Chapter 1 Falling in Love Thrice

Act 1, Scene 1

A Korean couple was born

Year 1948

In an era of chaos, a nation was torn apart into 2 pieces. All of Korea had been unified as a single state for centuries. The story begins after World War 2. Korea had a brief unified government until 1948, it was divided into 2 countries. Both countries were occupied by countries fighting a cold war.

In 1948 a couple was born, Lover Pyongyang and Lover Seoul. Lover Pyong and Lover Seoul were born into 2 different families. Lover Pyong grew up in the House of Capulet and Lover Seoul spent childhood in the House of Montague. The Capulets and the Montagues are not friends.

The couple found each other on favourable terms again officially in 2000, for the very first time after decades passed. The Supreme Leader of the North, leader of the Capulets, is very much looking forward to reconcile with the South as the wish of his late father.

Lover Seoul: Is the night so young?

Lover Seoul: Can’t wait to see Pyong.

Lover Seoul: Not having what I want makes time my worst enemy.

A Korean reunification attempt was made with the signing of the North–South Joint Declaration on June 15, 2000.
