Act 1, Scene 1

Palestine Girl: Someone’s at the door.

Israel Boy: Who is it?

Israel Boy: *Opens door*

Israeli Soldier 1: Security Check.

Palestine Girl: !!

Israeli Soldier 2: Wait! Who’s that?

Israeli Soldier 2: She’s a Palestinian!

Israeli Soldier 2: Freeze!

Israeli Soldier 2: *Points rifle at Palestine Girl*

Israel Boy: Wait, wait! She has permission letter.

Israel Boy: Where’s your papers?

Palestine Girl: *Shows paper*

Israeli Soldier 1: *Checks Palestine Girl letter*

Israeli Soldier 1: Looks at Palestine Girl sternly, as if he’s comparing her with the photograph on the papers.

Israeli Soldier 1: Looks legit.

Israeli Soldier 1: Search the place!

Israeli Soldier 2: *Lowers the rifle*

Israeli Soldier 2: *Messes up the whole house and found nothing*

Israeli Soldier 2: There’s nothing. Let’s go.

Israeli Soldier 1: Next house.

Israel Boy: *Phew*

Israel Boy: Are you alright?

Palestine Girl: Yes, I’m fine.

Act 1, Scene 2

Palestine Girl pulled Israel Boy to the garden. Together they wrote a wish on the lantern and set it flying high in the sky. Palestine Girl and Israel Boy kneeled down and said a prayer of peace for them and their people. As they were walking back home, a strange noise echoed all around them.

Strange Noise: *Echo* I cannot fulfill what it is that you asked.

Palestine Girl: *Startled*

Israel Boy: Who is that? Be gone!

Advisor Kong: You have just summoned me by setting off my lantern!

Advisor Kong: I am Kong Ming!

Israel Boy: *Shocked*

Israel Boy: Where are you? I can’t see you.

Advisor Kong: Because I choose not to let you see me.

Palestine Girl and Israel Boy kneeled down quickly. Before they speak again, Advisor Kong replied with a tone of uncertainly.

Advisor Kong: The enmity between your people is strong and deep. It is rooted in a long period of conflicts and resentments.

Advisor Kong: Your nations are deeply rooted in hostility. No matter who wins in a war, there will be no solution.

Palestine Girl: How do we stop these wars? Would you please help us, intelligent Advisor Kong.

There was a long pause before Advisor Kong continues.
